Do video games make people violent?
In my Forbidden books class we learned much about the Socratic Method, a method in which subjects are questioned on their own beliefs in order to fully see at times their beliefs can be erred. For this very reason it can be considered dangerous. The creator Socrates himself got killed for using his very own method on the people of Athens. The method forces people to question their beliefs and we all know most people don't like being proven wrong or questioned on something they've believed in their whole life. People would much rather be rather bluntly believe beliefs instead of questioning them and learning more in order to strengthen them . This is its danger at the core. The ability to disprove, further strengthen, or just make people doubt their beliefs. Often people in power see advantage in convincing certain people to believe certain things for things such as control and power. Making people realize they are being taken advantage of and see that there are flaws in their beliefs is a great power and very dangerous. In order to give an example of this me and my classmate made this Socratic demonstration around the question if video games make people violent. Here it is:
